Indian Airforce AFCAT

Indian AirForce invites both men and women from Indian citizens as per citizenship act 1955 to be a part of the Indian Air Force as commissioned officers in flying ground duty (technical and non-technical)

Indian forces consist of three parts and they are – Indian Navy, Indian Air force, Indian Army, and the most exciting branch is Indian Air Force, which is becoming the dream of many youngers now a days.

What is AFCAT?

The full form of AFCAT is air force common admission test. From this branch, the Indian Air Force put forward many vacancies in front of the youth of the nation

There are three branches under AFCAT, and they are –

  • Technical Branch
  • Ground Duty Branch
  • Flying Branch

Technical Branch

By the name itself, it clears that the Technical branch deals with the technical equipment in Indian Air Force. These are qualified engineers in Indian Air Force and mainly responsible to ensure that all technical equipment of the IAF is serviced and maintained as required. It includes all the possible vehicles that are used in Indian air Force like – cars, buses, motorcycles, bicycles, RADAR, aircraft, etc.

They required any engineering degree like Analytical Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering with 60% of minimum marks obtain.

Ground Duty Branch and its eligibility

There are sub-two branches in the Ground Duty Branch and they are –

  • Technical Branch
  • Non-technical Branch

For the Technical Branch, the candidate must have an engineering degree like Analytical Engineering, Mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, etc and also with any engineering degree a candidate can apply for it of at least four years of a minimum time period. 60% of minimum marks are required for the eligibility criteria.

Non-technical Branch includes the logistics Accounts, Education, Administration.

Flying Branch and its eligibility criteria

Through AFCAT the candidates can become the pilots of the fighter planes which is the most adventurous and exciting post in Indian Air Force. A person with 10+2 passed with mathematics or physics in subjects is eligible for the following exam.

The AFCAT selection process consists of the three phrases with exam/ EKT for technical candidates, AFSB interview and final selection after the medical test.

Salary

The allowances will be applicable on the grant of commission to flying officers – pay in, pay band ( common to all fields ) – ₹ 56,100 per month ( level 10 in the pay matrix of VIIth VCPC – 56,100- 1,10,700. Military service pay would be ₹15,500 per month.

Does AFCAT have reservations?

No there is no reservations AFCAT. You have to clear all the stages in order to get into Indian Air Force.
